Learn Web Development (For Data Science)

Web development requires HTML for the structure and CSS for the visual design. Javascript adds functionality and is what most web frameworks like Angular and React are written in. TensorFlow also released their popular machine learning library in Javascript so you can integrate it straight into your site.

The life of a data professional is typically pretty comfortable. We sit in a controlled, safe environment moving our fingers in particular patterns to make electronic signals do stuff — and for that, we get rewarded generously.

It’s a convenient, privileged existence. But it’s one where we should always be looking ahead and asking ourselves, what’s next?

What’s next in this industry? For our careers? Where should we focus our attention?

I don’t know the answer, but I’m a big believer in learning to do more stuff. Personally, I like creating things, and I know this is a common inclination for many.

For many of us, we can make data do stuff. But when it comes to allowing other people (without Python) to use our tools, it isn’t so easy.

In those scenarios, there is no better skill to have than those we learn in web development.

So, with this article, I will share the best resources I’ve found to begin getting to grips and quickly producing tangible benefits practicing web development — focusing on:
