How does it work?

The jOOQ Expression Tree Model

When you write a jOOQ query, you’re really creating an expression tree of your SQL statement that just happens to look like actual SQL syntax. For example:

ctx.select(BOOK.ID, BOOK.TITLE)
   .from(BOOK)
   .where(BOOK.AUTHOR_ID.eq(1))
