The release of ES2020 wasn’t long ago, but additional features are already in the pipeline, just waiting to get released. The TC39 working group handles the adoption of these features into the new version of the ECMAScript standard. This article brings you features that are already in Stage4 of TC39.
TC39 provides the following stages:
TC39 members may propose any idea, change, or addition that has not been previously proposed (or previously rejected in its entirety).
A proposal is created by a TC39 member. It describes a concrete problem and an associated solution.
The syntax and semantics of the proposal are described in the formal specification language.
The specifications for the proposal are completed and the reviewers have approved it. Stage 4 — Finished: The proposal can be included in an upcoming ECMAScript version.
The proposal may be included in an upcoming ECMAScript version. ES2021 will be probably released in June 2021.
