Untangling The Service Mesh

Service mesh so that you can make the right networking decisions for your architecture. It is a dedicated infrastructure layer built for this sole purpose of taking the logic of service-to-service. Service mesh solves this problem by tracking and collecting metrics related.

Service mesh has been in the community for a long time and many developers have already adopted it. If you are one of those people who wish to use it and would like to know what exactly is a service mesh and which is the right choice for your environment, then this blog is for you.

A service mesh manages the network traffic between different components of an application. It is a dedicated infrastructure layer built for this sole purpose of taking the logic of service-to-service communication away from the application and abstracting it. This gives ease of access, management and governance at a single point.

What it actually does?

In order to manage the networking, every communication is proxied through a side car running along with the application microservice. This decouples the application code from the networking logic and allows developers to focus on their mission-critical business logic.

As shown above, the communication will now be intercepted by the sidecar proxy container running in the same pod and will be received by a similar sidecar on the other end.
