ImportError: No module named Blender

I worked with Blender 2.49 and in my script I used&nbsp;<code>from Blender import *</code>. But now I'm upgrading my code to Blender 2.74 and when I run appears this error&nbsp;<em>No module named Blender</em>. There have been changes to call Blender module in version 2.74?

I'm trying to execute a python script that uses the Python-binding of OpenCV library, but when I click 'Run Script' in blender I have gotten the following error in the console:

ImportError: No module named 'cv2'
Error: Python script fail, look in the console for now...

Firstly I have copied-pasted the file cv2.pyd from: C:\opencv\build\python\2.7 to: C:\Program Files\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.66\python\lib and the new error is:

ImportError: Module use of python27.dll conflicts with this version of Python.have
Error: Python script fail, look in the console for now...

Then I have copied-pasted the file with same name but from C:\opencv\build\python\2.6 and the new output:

ImportError: DLL load failed: Le module spécifié est introuvable.
Error: Python script fail, look in the console for now...

My Config:

Win7 32bit
OpenCV 2.4.6
Both Python 3.3 and 2.7
Blender 2.66

Running Blender python script outside of blender

I want to visualize some scientific data, which is, at the moment, only an animation of some spheres with different colours and sizes.

I want to visualize some scientific data, which is, at the moment, only an animation of some spheres with different colours and sizes.

I already created a script within Mathematica which creates the input for POV-Ray.

My problem is, that I'm not satisfied with the quality of POV-Ray's results and wanted to write a Python script, which could set up the corresponding blender scenes and render them. An important constraint is, that I want to render on a headless machine, so I can't use Blender's internal console.

My question: Is it possible to use Blender's api from an external console to get POV-Ray-like behaviour?

After reading George Profenza's answer I did further research and found Don’t Use Blender! in Blender's documentation.

In contrast to my thoughts, one has to create a python script which is executed by blender in background mode.

./blender --background --python myscript.py

Running python script in Blender

I installed Blender 2.6 and I'm trying to run a script called drawcar.py (Which uses PyOpenGL)

I installed Blender 2.6 and I'm trying to run a script called drawcar.py (Which uses PyOpenGL)

I looked around the documentation for importing a script and could only access Blender's python console.

How do I run drawcar.py from the Linux terminal with Blender?
