Create A DAO Layer with The Spring MySQL CRUD

In this video, we will be getting started with the Spring MySQL CRUD. We will connect our spring MVC app with the MySQL database using spring JDBC. By the end of this video, you will learn to create a DAO layer ( spring repository ) and you will be able to populate the DB records in your JSP(view). So, let’s get started developing a DAO and Implementation class for our Student management app ( Java Live Project series)

Project Description :

Spring MVC + Spring JDBC + Spring Security; these are the three main spring modules that we will be implementing in this project. The output of this course is going to be a student management application which will be making with java and spring.

This java project training online series focuses on three important modules which I call Spring Boot Starter program. This course aims to help students/professionals build their first Java + spring live project and deploy that life on the cloud.

The Important goal :
Create a CRUD interface using the java spring framework.
The soul of this project is a spring MVC crud example
Style the project using CSS and Bootstrap
Learn to enhance this java project by adding new requirements
Deploy the project to Amazon AWS
Go Live

#java  #spring

Best MySQL DigitalOcean Performance – ScaleGrid vs. DigitalOcean Managed Databases

HTML to Markdown

MySQL is the all-time number one open source database in the world, and a staple in RDBMS space. DigitalOcean is quickly building its reputation as the developers cloud by providing an affordable, flexible and easy to use cloud platform for developers to work with. MySQL on DigitalOcean is a natural fit, but what’s the best way to deploy your cloud database? In this post, we are going to compare the top two providers, DigitalOcean Managed Databases for MySQL vs. ScaleGrid MySQL hosting on DigitalOcean.

At a glance – TLDR
ScaleGrid Blog - At a glance overview - 1st pointCompare Throughput
ScaleGrid averages almost 40% higher throughput over DigitalOcean for MySQL, with up to 46% higher throughput in write-intensive workloads. Read now

ScaleGrid Blog - At a glance overview - 2nd pointCompare Latency
On average, ScaleGrid achieves almost 30% lower latency over DigitalOcean for the same deployment configurations. Read now

ScaleGrid Blog - At a glance overview - 3rd pointCompare Pricing
ScaleGrid provides 30% more storage on average vs. DigitalOcean for MySQL at the same affordable price. Read now

MySQL DigitalOcean Performance Benchmark
In this benchmark, we compare equivalent plan sizes between ScaleGrid MySQL on DigitalOcean and DigitalOcean Managed Databases for MySQL. We are going to use a common, popular plan size using the below configurations for this performance benchmark:

Comparison Overview
ScaleGridDigitalOceanInstance TypeMedium: 4 vCPUsMedium: 4 vCPUsMySQL Version8.0.208.0.20RAM8GB8GBSSD140GB115GBDeployment TypeStandaloneStandaloneRegionSF03SF03SupportIncludedBusiness-level support included with account sizes over $500/monthMonthly Price$120$120

As you can see above, ScaleGrid and DigitalOcean offer the same plan configurations across this plan size, apart from SSD where ScaleGrid provides over 20% more storage for the same price.

To ensure the most accurate results in our performance tests, we run the benchmark four times for each comparison to find the average performance across throughput and latency over read-intensive workloads, balanced workloads, and write-intensive workloads.

Throughput
In this benchmark, we measure MySQL throughput in terms of queries per second (QPS) to measure our query efficiency. To quickly summarize the results, we display read-intensive, write-intensive and balanced workload averages below for 150 threads for ScaleGrid vs. DigitalOcean MySQL:

ScaleGrid MySQL vs DigitalOcean Managed Databases - Throughput Performance Graph

For the common 150 thread comparison, ScaleGrid averages almost 40% higher throughput over DigitalOcean for MySQL, with up to 46% higher throughput in write-intensive workloads.

Angular 11 + Spring Boot + MySQL example: Build a CRUD App

In this tutorial, we will learn how to build a full stack Angular 11 + Spring Boot example with a CRUD App. The back-end server uses Spring Boot with Spring Web MVC for REST Controller and Spring Data JPA for interacting with MySQL database. Front-end side is made with Angular 11, HTTPClient & Router.

Spring Boot + Angular 11 CRUD example

We will build a full-stack Tutorial Application in that:

  1. Each Tutorial has id, title, description, published status.
  2. We can create, retrieve, update, delete Tutorials.
  3. We can also find Tutorials by title.

The images below shows screenshots of our System.

– Add an object:

– Retrieve all objects:

– Click on Edit button to go to a Tutorial page:

On this Page, you can:

  1. change status to Published using Publish button
  2. delete the Tutorial using Delete button
  3. update the Tutorial details with Update button

Angular 11 & Spring Boot CRUD Architecture

This is the application architecture we will build:

spring-boot-angular-11-crud-example-architecture

– Spring Boot exports REST Apis using Spring Web MVC & interacts with MySQL Database using Spring Data JPA.
– Angular Client sends HTTP Requests and retrieve HTTP Responses using axios, shows data on the components. We also use Angular Router for navigating to pages.

Video

This is our Angular Spring Boot CRUD application demo and brief instruction, running with MySQL database:

In the video, we use Angular 10, but it has the same logic & UI as Angular version 11 in this tutorial.

Angular 12 + Spring Boot: CRUD example

In this tutorial, we will learn how to build a full stack Spring Boot + Angular 12 example with a CRUD App. The back-end server uses Spring Boot with Spring Web MVC for REST Controller and Spring Data JPA for interacting with embedded database (H2 database). Front-end side is made with Angular 12, HttpClient, Router and Bootstrap 4.
