During this time, I learn something new every day and I also work on my communication skills when talking to people of different teams and come with different techniques for improving the customer journey. One of the best parts of this job is that different freelancing. I don’t need to select the project on which I have to work on. I try my best to do my task and learn something new and I am an introverted person so I used to find it difficult to communicate with people and presenting myself during team meetings. And all this has improved my communication skills over a year ago.
2) Affiliate Marketing: Once I was starting to learn data science on my own, I share the links to courses. With affiliate marketing, I can share the courses with other people. In case someone has clicked on the link of the course then a small percentage of that particular course fee will go to us. From affiliate marketing, I learned a lot as I choose selective courses for promotion. This is a very small income stream but I add it to the list.
3) Data Science Blogging: In my free time, I write about Data Science as I started to write articles, built projects in order to strengthen my portfolio. I enjoy creating articles and sharing my journey with others. After some time, I realized that my articles add value for people who were on the same journey. So, now I am one of the top writers in technology and AI.
4) Freelancing: Last year, I was searching for ways for making money online. I felt freelancing sites competitive and they didn’t fit into any of the categories on these sites. Many companies don’t need any team of data science and hire people on a contract basis. I am working on a one-off machine learning project and from that, I am learning a lot. From publishers and technical sites, I also get an offer of freelancing for writing data science articles for them. I also start consultation sessions for people who try to learn data science or break into the industry and it is also my new source of income.
In the end, I think that losing a job due to COVID-19 was one of the best things that happened to me. After losing my job, I learn the skills essential for becoming a data scientist.
