This article is not going to be a comparison article per se, but rather I will point out all the reasons why React is a great choice for new developers. Wherever relevant, I might make comparisons with the intention of making some of React’s strengths clearer.
React, Vue.js, and Angular are the UI libraries/frameworks of choice for front-end development in 2020. This article is not going to be a comparison article per se, but rather I will point out all the reasons why React is a great choice for new developers. Wherever relevant, I might make comparisons with the intention of making some of React’s strengths clearer.
In the past, I’ve analyzed all the three UI libraries independently, and I chose Vue for my own projects. Even though I personally use Vue, if you asked me which one you should learn as a new developer, I would suggest you learn React.
This is not a conclusion that I came to easily. And this is not a one-sided article that presents React in the best light while ignoring important facts. I will explain why React is a great starting point for you as an aspiring web developer. That does not mean Angular or Vue are bad starting points by any stretch of the imagination.
For the rest of the article, I will go through the reasons why React has a slight edge, especially for developers who are new to the web.
The main reason why I believe in React is that it has the most opportunities. It’s a UI library that’s growing a lot in popularity, has many high-paying jobs, and is very diverse.

Since HackerNews is used mostly by startups, this data can be skewed to an extent. But despite that, it is obvious that React job positions are many and constantly growing.
