Scaling on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure using Open Source Tech Stack

Scaling for 1 million+ Users on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure using Open Source Tech Stack. Let’s face it. Scaling is hard. And once you have grown over 1 million users, scaling is the problem you face most of the time.

Let’s face it. Scaling is hard. And once you have grown over 1 million users, scaling is the problem you face most of the time.

So let’s assume the application has a frontend, a backend, and a database layer. Let’s assume all the one million users correspond to 1 million requests per second(60 million requests per minute)

Let’s assume some basics like the tech stack and request size. Although I don’t care much about it while scaling infrastructure. Yes, CPU consumption of a Java-based application may exponentially rise while for a NodeJS based backend, it can rise linearly. Let’s choose the tricky backend then. Let it be Java, a SpringBoot based backend application. For the front end, we can have React. We can use Mysql for the database layer. Also, let’s assume each request size is 2Kb in size.
