In this video, I will show you how to convert an image to a pencil sketch using the Python programming language in just 5 lines of code! Python is a general-purpose programming language that was created in the late 1980s and has seen significant growth in popularity from big tech companies and communities over the years.
šOne of the reasons for its popularity growth is its ease of use and simplicity. Just think that we are about to transform an image in just 5 lines of code !! Actually, it could be less.
Before writing any code letās walk through some of the steps that will be used and try to understand them a bit. šStep 1: Find an image that we want to convert into a pencil sketch. I am going to use the image of a Jerry. šStep 2: Read in the Red, Blue, Green (RBG) image and then convert it to a grayscale image. This effectively makes the image a classic āblack and whiteā photo. This will be our āgreyscale imageā. šStep 3: We are going to invert the āgrey scaled imageā also known as getting the image negative, this will be our āinverted greyscale imageā. Inversion can be used to enhance details. šStep 4: Use a Gaussian function to blur the image. In image processing, a Gaussian blur (also known as Gaussian smoothing) is the result of blurring an image by a Gaussian function. šStep 5: Invert the newly created āblurred imageā, this will be called the āinverted blurred imageā. šStep 6: Now we are going to create the pencil sketch image by blending the āgreyscale imageā with the āinverted blurred imageā. This can be done by dividing the āgrayscale imageā by the āinverted blurred imageā. Since images are just arrays we can easily do this in programming by using the divide function from the cv2 library.

In this tutorial, youāre going to learn a variety of Python tricks that you can use to write your Python code in a more readable and efficient way like a pro.
Today you're going to learn how to use Python programming in a way that can ultimately save a lot of space on your drive by removing all the duplicates. We gonna use Python OS remove( ) method to remove the duplicates on our drive. Well, that's simple you just call remove ( ) with a parameter of the name of the file you wanna remove done.
In the programming world, Data types play an important role. Each Variable is stored in different data types and responsible for various functions. Python had two different objects, and They are mutable and immutable objects.
Magic Methods are the special methods which gives us the ability to access built in syntactical features such as ā<ā, ā>ā, ā==ā, ā+ā etc.. You must have worked with such methods without knowing them to be as magic methods. Magic methods can be identified with their names which start with __ and ends with __ like __init__, __call__, __str__ etc. These methods are also called Dunder Methods, because of their name starting and ending with Double Underscore (Dunder).
The OS module is a python module that provides the interface for interacting with the underlying operating system that Python is running.
