Race bar chart is a very easy tool to compare quantities which varies with time. In simple terms, it is a bar chart incorporated with a time axis.

In this article, I will explain how to prepare a COVID-19 Visualization using Flourish App. The final product looks as shown below:

Step 1: Signing up on Flourish App

Signing up for ‘Flourish’ is very simple procedure like signing up for any other service.

Like Tableau, flourish has free and paid versions, the downside of free version, just like the case of Tableau _or _GitHub free version is that the data needs to be kept public. If you have highly sensitive information consider signing up for paid version.

Files in excel or csv format can be uploaded to Flourish.

Note that for making a Bar Race Chart, column headers should be time(date, year, rounds etc.)

Apart from the bar labelscategory and image can also be incorporated in Flourish, which are optional.

If category is available, bar coloring can be based on category.

For adding image(country flag/player image, club crest etc.), image url needs to be provided.
