Here are eight tips to help you to become a better front-end developer.
I believe one of the most important thing on the list is being curious.
The bad and at the same time, the beauty of front-end development is that it’s moving forward very fast.
New tools, plugins, techniques, and languages are released almost every day.
It is essential that you stay open to all the new things and will make an effort to explore and understand them.
If you don't keep up with the swift changes, your skills can become very quickly outdated.
You don’t need to deep dive into the new technologies. It would be best if you had an overview. When the right project comes, you can dive deeper.
There is always stack overflow for the rescue.
The first mistake and surprisingly, most of us make very often even senior developers is that we don't plan.
Planning is boring. Often we are pumped to complete the project that we dive straight into the project.
But that is not the right way to approach.
For example, if given a task to write HTML for a website:
You are excited and pumped up. You start writing your first line and after some lines, boom! You don't know what to do. No clue whatsoever what to do next.
The problem? No planning before starting.
In this example, there will lots of things on your head at once. The design part and the development part, all at once. Working like this is not appropriate.
On the other hand, if you had made a PSD or simple sketch of your sections and chose colours beforehand. Writing HTML will be damn comfortable.
There is one other advantage of preplanning; you are aware of what concepts you know and what needs figuring.
You know how to approach. Rather than learning the right way after getting hit by the roadblock.
The human brain does not like unexpected things; we get exhausted. Planing is a must!
