For several years now we’ve been hearing this. That somehow magically “moving style out of your external stylesheet and into the markup” makes the page “render faster”. Whilst unlike the bald faced LIE  that is “classes are better than selectors and combinators ” it’s not a total work of fiction, in most practical applications it does come across as a mix of ignorance and wishful thinking. Even if Google PageSpeed Insights or Pingdom claim otherwise.
