Red Hat has announced the availability of the Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (JBoss EAP) on Microsoft Azure. Customers can now tap the features of a cloud-based architecture to modernise existing Jakarta EE applications and develop new ones. JBoss will be available as a native offering in Azure and will be fully configured. Next up, the team is working on bringing it as a fully supported runtime in Microsoft-managed Azure App Service.

Customers will now be able to bring existing applications, such as on-premise JBoss EAP applications and Jakarta EE applications running on different servers, to Azure. Customers also have the freedom to choose how they would manage these applications on the cloud. JBoss EAP offers Java developers powerful management and automation capabilities to improve productivity.

With JBoss EAP on Azure, customers can:

• Create cloud-native applications that are flexible, scalable and secure.
• Offered as both hosted and customer-managed settings, customers can use Azure Marketplace to run applications with JBoss EAP on Azure virtual machines.
• With Java applications now shifted to cloud, organisations can reduce costs on the infrastructure, OS, and storage fronts.
• JBoss EAP combines the open-source expertise of Red Hat and the public cloud strength of Microsoft.
