Just buried into code and developing stuff. Or else? Here’s do and don ts of blockchain programming with a year of experience.

DO

Research about platforms and the languages they use!

Before starting, you don’t want to get stuck with a platform because you don’t know the language. First, doing the initial research and learning the programming languages helps you to understand the lines of codes.

Here are some of the languages used in blockchain development:

JavaScript

JavaScript is the language of the web. And most platforms and their dependencies rely on JavaScript and its APIs. Especially with node.js for API development. This language is a must for blockchain and building apps on Ethereum and Hyperledger.

Java

The good old language used for a variety of purposes. So does the blockchain. Especially with Hyperledger and Corda. JVM’s robustness and resourcefulness allowed many developers to develop something reliably.

.NET Languages

It’s used for Ethereum. Also, a powerful developer tool for developing web applications, interacting with the web3 environment and way more stuff to be done with the platform itself.

Read use cases and case studies

They both give you an insight into how you can use platforms, problems they solve and helps you to know to find solutions with the tools. The good thing is that you can write the code and know how to solve something. On the internet, there are lots of case studies and use cases easily available to our fingers. Even more, platform websites outline great use cases for everyone to have information about what to develop.
