Firebase is one of the popular mobile and web application development platforms. It is one of the easy to-use platforms and it is the first choice to host data for mobile and web apps for most of the new mobile and web developers. This could be complimented by the fact that since its beginning (in 2011) to Oct 2018, 1.8 million apps use one or more of the 18 products of Firebase platform. Firebase was also my choice for storing data on the cloud when I was learning Android Programming.

It is fun working with Firebase Cloud because of ease to configure the environment and good support system. On top of that, Firebase was bought by Google in 2014 which gave it more strength as Google had expertise in its own Google Cloud products.

Firebase has three multiple options when it comes to cloud databases. They are:

  1. Firebase Realtime Database
  2. Firebase Cloud Firestore
  3. Firebase Storage

Firebase Realtime Database

Firebase Realtime Database is the first product launched by Firebase. Realtime Database is an API that synchronizes data across different platforms such as iOS, Android and Web Applications and store it on the device.
