A blockchain is a distributed database that is shared among the nodes of a network. The database is made up of blocks, which are linked together using cryptography. Each block contains a timestamp, a list of transactions, and a hash of the previous block. This makes it very difficult to tamper with the data in a blockchain, as any changes would be immediately apparent to all nodes in the network.
