I was at the end of my college. Had no idea what I should build first. I knew I needed something to show off my skills. My target job was a front-end developer, so the project needed to address those skills.

Every employer will see your passion through your first projects. That’s why you need to stand out. You’ll need to invest some time, to make a great impression with your game, or business app.

Time invested equals project quality.

Be sure to research every edge case. Question everything. Create extensive tests. Find people who will try your app.

Idea

I had the idea of creating a shooter game. Something simple but yet sophisticated. I needed to impress my employer, but had little time to invest.

I’ve liked the idea of moving the player from left to right while shooting objects. Bullets will need some sort of physics as well. Game enemies were also needed so I could show off my OOP skills as well.

Enemies would have different strengths, some will be killed sooner. The player can also die from a collision. Bullets needed to be rendered and deleted after they’ve hit the target.
