You have probably already heard a lot about Stateful Widgets vs. Stateless Widgets.

Well, this video isn’t about defining them, but understanding WHEN you should use which.

If you watch this entire video, at the end, you will always know when to use a Stateful or a Stateless widget.

Very basically explained, Stateless Widgets use up less resources in your app, while Stateful Widgets will always consume more resources.

So, you should always use a Stateless Widget, except when you want your content to be dynamic. In that case, you should use a Stateful Widget. Now if you want it to be static, then you use a Stateless widget.

In the video I go more in depth on the explanation and I very lightly explain each of them. I also talk about State management (what it is and how it works), as well as how, once you become more advanced, you’ll be able to apply dynamic content to Stateless Widgets as well.
