Introduction

Before the Cloud Data Warehouse, most of the companies adopted the traditional Cloud Data Warehouse.

The traditional system of Data Warehouse permitted with various difficulties to gather data from a wide range of external or internal sources of an organization in order to support the analytical operations.

In general, the architecture of the traditional Data Warehouse is characterized by three tiers:

  • The bottom tier, composed by different kinds of backing tools and utilities that extract data from different sources, transform and load them into Data Warehouse.
  • The middle tier, characterized by the OLAP servers which perform multi-dimensional analysis of business data in order to transform data into a format that can permits makinge complex calculations.
  • Top tier in which we can use different query and reporting tools. So, we can perform data analysis and data miner.

Anyway, to sustain this kind of system companies spent much to maintain hardware, server rooms and the cost of hiring a specific team to run it. Cloud Data Warehouse become the solution for these problems.
