We will install SQL Server on a Windows 10 computer (64-bit operating system). We will download and install latest free version of SQL Server. SQL Server 2019 Express Edition.
There are two components to this: SQL Server the back end, and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) the front end - and it's all free.
We will download and restore the sample AdventureWorks database. Connect and test the server and database with simple query. Let's see how to install it, and start writing your own SQL statements.
