Getting Started With the OMI Token: Metrics and Details
VeVe is a blockchain-based digital collectibles platform, built by ECOMI. In order for you to actually be able to own a digital collectible, and interact with other users, the platform needs and uses a token.
This token is called the OMI token.
When you buy, trade or sell your digital collectibles within the platform, the OMI token is used as the medium of exchange, and ensures an immutable record of ownership- so you always know that what you’re buying is real and legitimate.

The OMI token is a utility token. That is, it has been designed with the specific purpose of being exchanged for digital collectibles, within the VeVe platform.
Sales of the OMI Token
In order to raise funds and begin building VeVe, the OMI token was sold in a private/pre-sale round, and to the public through an initial exchange offering (IEO) on Bitforex exchange.
The raise had a hard cap of 1500 BTC, and at all stages of the raise, the OMI token was priced at 1 satoshi. There were no discounts for private or pre-sale investors, nor were there any lockups or vesting on those tokens.
20% of the total token supply was made available during the sales, or 150 billion OMI tokens. 50 BTC worth of OMI was sold in the public sale/IEO, which sold out in under 12 hours, and was completed in May 2019. At the time of the sales, BTC was valued around $6–7000 USD.
Token Distribution/Allocations
The current circulating supply of OMI tokens is around ~110 billion OMI.
With the design of the VeVe tokenomic system, an additional 40%, or 300 billion OMI tokens, are held in the in-app reserve, most of which will never enter the circulating supply.
